Delectable Burger Photo Session

This is one of my favourite photo sessions that I have worked on so far. I was contracted Mama’s Pub in Fredericton, NB to do this photo & design as an advertisement layout to appear in a magazine.

The really unique element with this shoot is that we really liked the way that the Mama’s Pub sign worked with the lighting, so we thought that it would be a great idea to try and incorporate it into the background of the photo. The only issue with this was that the sign was 8 feet in the air.

I decided to build a platform tower out of tables to propel our delectable burger & beverage treat so that it would appear in line with the pink glow of the Mama’s Pub sign. Of course moving the entire food layout 8 feet up in the air also meant that I had to move all of the lighting to match.

Everything went really smoothly and I was very pleased with the way that the session turned out. The most changeling part of the shoot turned out to be trying to stand on a 3+ foot bar stool, shooting photos from one angle and leaning to the other side, trying not to fall off the stool, crashing to the floor with my camera, all so that my reflection would not end up superimposed on the side of the frosty malt beverage.

One hour later, I wrapped the shoot happy that I had got the shot that I was looking for. Here is the final result.

Dream Kitchen Commercial Shoot

This was a shoot that I did for Oak Ridge Manufacturing; a company that is located in Keswick Landing, NB and serves Fredericton and the surrounding areas. Oak Ridge Manufacturing are designers & manufactures of beautiful custom cabinetry.

I have done previous shoots for Oak Ridge and just like all the other projects that they have been involved with, the final results of their work are simply stunning. This room in particular was a dream to photograph, with the beautiful clean lines and sharp accenting hardware. These cabinets were designed and installed custom, for a new home build in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Weather Getting Warmer

This is a photo that took while on my evening walk. Sometimes I take for granted at that fact that I live in an area that I can go for a walk, see such wonderful nature and not ever see a traffic light. Actually I usually even see more deer than I do people.

This photo was taken with my iPhone. I love my iPhone. It allows me to never leave home without music & snap a quick photo of anything that catches my eye, without having to lug around my big camera gear bag. Now of course they are no substitute for quality, but they definitely take decent photos.

Nova Scotia Sunset

Old CP Rail Train Station

This is an old train station that is located close to our home. The railway here was dug up years ago and made into a trail system that is used by snowmobiles, bikes, ATVs and those walking.

This station was abandoned for quite a few years and recently purchased. They have began the process of restoring it, but I am not sure how far they plan to go with the project.

It is great that someone has taken an interest in this historic building and that it did not get demolished like many other abandoned train stations in New Brunswick.

Life of a Snowman

Ahh the life of a snowman. We have been waiting since Christmas to have snow packy enough for snowman building. We had a blast building this with my 2 year old daughter, although she was kind of scared of him once he was completed. We made an entire family of snow-people, complete with styling accessories.

The downside to March snow-people is that with a temperature high of 15C today, I don’t anticipate that they will be spending too much more time here in New Brunswick. Maybe Santa will swing by in the middle of the night and take them to the North Pole for the summer months.

Spring Break Vacation

Dear Spring, Please Hurry!

Every year around March, even though I like winter, I begin to get a little sick of it. March really offers nothing other than St. Patrick’s Day, cold temperatures and dirty snow.

With spring only 20ish days away, I look forward to getting out and taking photos of spring and summer scenery.

Fredericton Sunset

I took this photo a few years ago while my wife and I were walking in downtown Fredericton. Fredericton has a great walking trail that runs though the downtown core along the Saint John River. This Church is the Christ’s Church Cathedral that was constructed in 1853.
